It would be nice for the upcoming events merge tags to pull in an image from the event. Our landing page design includes background images for the events, and right now we can't use merge tags because there is no way to pull any of the associated images into the module. It would be great if a merge tag could pull an image from the banner, mobile, or gallery image fields.
