What's New
The thermometer on your giving page has always shown one combined total — direct gifts, matching funds, and gateway fees all rolled into a single number. Now you can see exactly what that number is made of.
On the public giving page - Hovering the thermometer now shows a tooltip explaining what's included in the total - admins can click the hovering message on thermometer to jump straight to the full breakdown in Reports.
Behind that breakdown, here's what's now visible:
  • Direct gifts — online payments and offline donations recorded by admins
  • Recorded matching gifts — challenge amounts that have been unlocked and recorded as a gift
  • Unrecorded matching gifts — challenge amounts unlocked but not yet recorded
  • Amount recorded (direct gifts + recorded matching gifts) — what's actually in your books
  • Payment gateway charges — shown with a tooltip breaking down donor-covered vs. org-absorbed
  • Net total raised — amount recorded minus gateway charges
A Challenge Insights section also shows completed vs. in-progress challenges, and how much sponsor money has been released vs. still outstanding.
Why This Matters
The thermometer total has always combined several sources of money into one number, and that's exactly why it could look bigger than the direct donations you were tracking. Until now, the only way to understand that gap was to contact support. Now the thermometer itself tells its own story — hover it, or click through as an admin, and you'll see precisely how the total was built. No more guessing, no more support tickets just to explain a number.
Good to Know
  • The gross total (direct gifts + recorded matching gifts + unrecorded matching gifts) will always match exactly what donors see on the thermometer.
  • This works for all goal types: amount, gift count, and donor count.
  • This is admin-facing — nothing changes about what donors experience on the giving page itself.
How to Find It
