Display photos in Spaces feed

Erin Fumiko Kinney Thanks for sharing this feedback. Spaces posts are designed to show a limited preview in the feed, and both text and inline content (including images) are truncated after a character limit to keep post cards visually consistent and easy to scan.
Full content, including photos, is available when you open the post. If you’d like an image or file to stand out directly in the feed, we recommend using the attachment option (paperclip icon), which is designed to surface key visuals in the post summary.

Sahil Mallick Thanks for this reply. Is there a way to increase the character limit? There isnʻt enough content to decide whether youʻd like to view the post.

Erin Fumiko Kinney Right now, post summaries are generated from content stored in HTML. Because formatting and styling add underlying HTML tags, those get counted toward the character limit, which can reduce the amount of visible text in the summary.
We’re currently evaluating approaches that would allow more meaningful preview content while still keeping post summaries visually consistent in the feed. This includes looking at how we count characters and balance styling with summary length.
We’ll keep you posted as we make progress here, and we appreciate you raising this.

Erin Fumiko Kinney I'm confused. When I attach a photo to our posts, they all show. In the feed and in the digests/blast emails that we send monthly. If I don't attach a photo using hte paperclip icon, there is no photo to show. Why are yours not showing?

Elizabeth Babb ’82 I'm not sure. The digests are worse. Here's a screenshot of one post with photo that was featured in the digest.

Erin Fumiko Kinney So what I have discovered is that any Space that is private will not show the image in the digest. This is for security reasons according to Almabase. I have expressed the disconnect between showing hte text and not showing the image "for security reasons". Either you show both or none in my opinion. If the Space is public, the image that is uploaded using hte paperclip icon should show (images attached inline to your text using the picture icon only show when you are looking at the actual post). For example, here is a screenshot from our digest recently. These posts were from public Spaces. You can see images show fine. Again this is from a digest. If you are talking about an "announcement" sent from a Space or an email received because the recipient has subscribed to the topic, that is a different matter. You need to be specific about what kind of post you are doing becuase this could be a support issue/bug vs. an enhancement request (which this forum is for). Hope that makes sense. The support team should be able to talk you through all of this. It took me a while to figure it all out. Super dependent on type of Space, and whether or not you mean a digest, an "announcement" or a subscription to a topic.
