I have many duplicates in my database on Almabase. I would like to be able to search for duplicates by name: first name, last name, first and last name and close variants. This would help me remove duplicates that do not show up through email or ID.

Hiya Sr. Brittany Harrison, thanks for this post! I have a few more questions for you:

What criteria should be used to determine a 'close variant' of a name?
How frequently do you encounter duplicate entries in your database?
Would you like the ability to automatically merge duplicates, or just identify them for manual review?

Ginu Close variant would be something a match of at least 3 characters in the first and/or last name. This is because sometimes they change last names (maiden to married or divorced), or they go by a nickname or shorter version of their name instead of their full birth name (Kate for Katelyn, Maria for Mariangeles). 
I run into duplicates almost everyday because many users did not sign up using the invitation since I did not have an updated email address for them. I have to manually search and merge profiles. It is very time consuming to search because I have to guess who has a duplicate. 
I want to manually review because there are some alumnae with the same name.
