When we use the default Name field type in forms and select the option for "First & Last Name (collected separately)" [see picture 1], we are unable to apply Connectors to sync the First Name from the form to the First Name (or Preferred First Name) profile field and the same goes for Last Name. You can only apply a Connection for the full name which does not exist on our constituent profiles [see picture 2].
To get around this, we can't use the default Name field type and must add separate custom fields for First Name and Last Name without associating a Name field type [see picture 3] then apply the appropriate Connections [see picture 4]. However, when we do this, the Names do not appear in the form Submissions view unless the record is mapped to a constituent record [see picture 5] OR we click on "View details" which displays a right-hand pop-up with "Unidentified" as the name (because we didn't use the default Name field type) and we have to scroll to the custom name fields [see pictures 6 & 7]. This can be frustrating and time consuming for admins.
