Pulling the field "Request no email" from the Bio section on Raiser's Edge

Thank you for the feature request. I just wanted to understand how this flag works. Does the value gets derived from solicit codes or communication preferences?

Kanhai Shah: Hello, I think Sarita's original request was a little understated in how important this field is. This is not derived from a solicit code. If someone requests to be removed from all emails (solicitation, event invites, newsletters, everything!) we check this box and include it in all communication queries to ensure the receive NO emails from the college.

Lauren Binney: Got it, On Almabase we have a flag called can_email. Basically this controls if the profile should ever be contacted by email or not. I am assuming "Request no email" is a similar flag on RE.
My question is - we have been using Solicit code to derive can email flag on Almabase. Basically, a lot of the existing customers use solicit codes like "Do not contact" to maintain this flag. It seems like, you are using ""Request no email" instead to manage this, is my understanding correct?
