Text-to-Give and Text-to-Message Functionality

We are requesting the development of a new feature that would enable text-to-give and text-to-message functionality for our organization. We've seen the effectiveness of text-to-give in increasing participation and making it easier for donors to donate, especially when they've seen a billboard or newspaper ad.
Additionally, we currently use a text messaging service with our auction software, OnceCause, and have recognized the impact it can have on our fundraising efforts. We believe this feature would be a valuable addition to our platform, and would love to hear Almabase's thoughts on the feasibility of implementing such a feature.
Benefits:
- Text-to-Give can increase participation and make it easier for donors to donate, especially for campaigns that have advertised through billboards or newspapers.
- Text-to-Message functionality can also improve communication and streamline processes within our organization.
- A Text-to-message function will keep our donors informed of the progress of a campaign, auction, or other events in a timely manner, which will help increase their engagement.
We are highly interested in the adoption of this function as soon as possible and would like to know the feasibility of the implementation and any other information you need.

Posting this on behalf of the Sidwell Friends School team:
Anna Wyeth and the Sidwell Friends School advancement team are interested in incorporating a text messaging feature, initially focusing on event management. Here are a few key use cases:
- Event Reminders: Text reminders are more effective than emails, as guests are less likely to check their email on the way to an event or as the date approaches.
- Event Announcements/Updates: Sending real-time updates, such as weather changes or venue shifts, ensures guests stay informed.
- Follow-Up Communication: Gathering feedback from attendees via text after the event can lead to higher response rates and valuable insights.

Hi everybody,
I would like to thank you all for taking the time to share your experiences with text messaging for event and giving campaigns.
Providing the best set of easy-to-use, and integrated tools for advancement shops has always been a goal at Almabase.
While email-based communication is the only format that has been supported on Almabase so far - we recognize the value that text messaging has had in improving giving and event participation.
However, as of today, we are in really early stages of research and development of what an integrated text communication system for advancement shops can look like. Given the complexity, reliability, and level of integration that is needed for this change, we do not anticipate that a text messaging feature will be available on Almabase for the public in the next 6-9 months.
In the interim, we remain committed to enhancing the existing features within Communication Center. Our efforts will be focused on automation possibilities and deepening integration with Raiser's Edge NXT for Blackbaud users, ensuring your communication workflows are more streamlined than ever.
Thank you for your ongoing support and understanding. We truly cherish the feedback that you have shared, and look forward to building the best advancement tools together.

If Almabase supports text messaging as a way for communication, it will help us to move our text based programs to Almabase.

We are in the same situation. It's disheartening that this request is well over a year old and there has no update. Unless there is an update somewhere and I'm missing it.

Particularly for India, the same but with WhatsApp instead of text. WA is the primary communication channel for everyone and has a place in their daily workflow. With the APIs that WhatsApp provide along with the increasing capabilities of WhatsApp as a platform makes it an important channel.

Kanhai Shah: Yes! We use it in a variety of programs including event invites/reminders, wellness checking (after a local disaster), and Giving Day. Our call center uses Blackbaud Guided Fundraising which has some text functionality. I've personally planned, created, and implemented our office's use of that texting service and I found it to be clunky, but it's worth it to have text functionality.

Kanhai Shah: We are not currently hosting any text based programs but it's been on our to do list for quite a while. We just haven't found the one that fits our needs quite yet. We'd like for it to be integrated with one of our systems.
