Shopping Cart on Competitive Fundraising Pages
D
Daniel Minich
I would like to request the ability to scroll through each of the campaigns under a competitive fundraising page and make a shopping cart of sorts so I can check out once for all the campaigns I wish to donate to, not just scroll through the "Make a Gift Button" at the very top to do so. Currently if I wanted to read the campaigns and make a donation for each of them I would have to check out multiple times or remember what I want to give to and scroll through that make a gift button list.

Donating Via a Campaign Hub Page - Option to add more fund donations

Cassey Youngblood
After we hosted our first Giving Day on Almabase, we had a constituent voice that they wanted to be able to add more funds to their donation than just the one they clicked on (from the campaign hub pages). We found a work-around for our next Giving Day by adding an explanation of "how to donate to multiple funds in one transaction" to our description box. However, it would be nice to have each campaign hub page prompt the donor and ask if they would like to donate to another fund before checking out.

Hiya Cassey Youngblood, thanks for this post! I have a few more questions for you:
- How many additional funds do donors typically want to add in one transaction?
- Are there specific types of funds that are more commonly added together by donors?
- Would donors prefer a prompt to add more funds before or after entering their payment information?

- Thus far, I've not seen a transaction come through with more than 3 or 4 funds listed on them.
- This typically is referring to Giving Day campaigns. For example, our Giving Tuesday campaign was specifically asking for donations for 6 funds, however, donations were counted for donations made to funds other than those funds during our counting period. Sometimes donors like to donate to a few of the funds we are soliciting donations for then if they have an endowed fund they will add a donation to that fund as well.
- I would say before they add payment information. People see the payment information tab and expect that to be the last step in their transaction process.

Ginu, looks like we aren't the only ones requesting a shopping cart functionality.

Hello Daniel Minich! I have a few more questions for you:
- What specific features would you like to see in the shopping cart functionality?
- How important is it for you to have a summary of your selected campaigns before checkout?
- Would you prefer to have the option to save your cart for future visits?

Hiya Daniel Minich, thanks for this post! I have a few more questions for you:
- What specific features would you like to see in the shopping cart functionality?
- How important is it for you to have a single checkout process for multiple campaigns?
- Are there any specific challenges you face with the current donation process that this feature could address?

Ginu,
- I would like donors to have the ability to scroll through all 40+ campaigns we have on our give day and be able to allocate $5 here, $100 there, while seeing the images and the impact of each campaign. Once they add all donations to the cart they can check out at once (same concept as the "Make a Gift" button, but not just the one button at the very top.)
- This is honestly the most important thing to me, and if we weren't under contract we would drop you completely. Donors don't want to sort through 40 transactions, heck even their bank would probably not allow that. If we can ease the process allowing donors to "shopping cart" it will make it exactly what we were looking for.
- There is no other option to pick and choose donations, other than through the "Make a Donation" button. By addressing the need for a shopping cart, where multiple different campaigns can be read about, and checked out at once rather than multiple different transactions, the donors are getting to read about, and see their impact, not just a list they can scroll through at the top, via the make a donation button, and allocate dollars to it.
I hope this makes sense. If you need examples I would look into some software such as GiveCampus, they have the ability to have the multiple campaigns at once, and add to cart, without having to have multiple transactions or only be able to do this through the one button at the top of the page that doesn't share the story, just the funds.
Thanks!
Daniel

Agreed. This is a must have! Our donors donate to multiple campaigns on Give Day. The cart feature is so needed. We thought it was part of Almabase when we signed the contract or we never would have chosen this platform. This is a big disappointment. Please, please try to fix this. Thanks!

Agreed! The more flexibility for the donors, the better!
